Sherlock Holmes had noticed something about dogs and the way they behave and how this could help in detective work. For example who ever saw a frisky dog in a gloomy family or a sad dog in a happy one. Snarling people have snarling dogs and dangerous people have dangerous dogs. What now interests Holmes is why Professor Presbury’s faithful wolfhound Roy, endeavours to bite him.
