Educating Ethical, Globally Minded Changemakers

NCGS Executive Director Megan Murphy has noted that perhaps more than any other moment in history, it’s important to educate girls to become the women we need to help solve the world’s biggest challenges. But how do we educate and empower girls to become ethical, globally minded changemakers? In this episode of PEP Talks: Podcast on Educational Possibilities, host Olivia Haas, Director of Strategic Communications & Media at NCGS, takes a look at how integrity, respect, and social and cultural awareness impact a girl's sense of social justice. Olivia is joined, in Part 1, by featured guests and girls’ school educators, Linda Douglas, Principal at Ruyton Girls’ School, which is located in a suburb of Melbourne, Australia, and Nancy Richards, Head of St. Mildred’s-Lightbourn School in Oakville, Canada, about 30 minutes outside of Toronto. In Part 2 of this episode, Olivia speaks with Dr. Karen Rezach, Founding Director of The Ethics Institute at Kent Place School in Summit, New Jersey, and Anyra K., a member of Kent Place’s Class of 2022. If you’re wondering how to enact change in the lives of girls to compel them to become ethical, globally minded changemakers in their communities and the world, this podcast is for you.
