Nikki, Mia, & Emma // Debriefing Our Inaugural All-Women's Passage

In this episode, Nikki, Emma, and Mia sit down together in the UK to debrief 59° North's inaugural all-women's sailing passage. It was an epic heavy weather trip. We sailed over a thousand miles from Marstrand, Sweden to Portsmouth, England, with six female crewmembers. This all-women passage is one of many steps towards a more inclusive and equitable sailing community. In the episode, we discuss the details of this passage, including weather routing decisions and medical situations onboard. We also talk about the big-picture goals behind this passage, and what the three of us learned along the way. We will be running another women's trip next summer on FALKEN! We also have a women's happy hour event coming up soon in Annapolis. And we have more announcements coming soon about some changes in the way we do things at 59° North that we hope will make an impact.  -- If you liked this conversation you'll LOVE The QUARTERDECK, 59 North's 'deep dives on the art of seamanship.'
