Pursuing a PhD 11: Speed Reading & Getting Glasses

When someone tells you what to do and they have experience - you should probably listen to them. I was told by someone in the know to get my eyes checked before I started my PhD. I didn’t. I felt confident that my over-the-counter readers were just fine. Well, here I am in Week 11 with new glasses!  In this episode, I share two things I learned this week through my PhD journey: You need to have the right tools when you are doing anything. A PhD is so reading intensive that you do need to get your eyes checked!  Speed reading allows you to take in a lot of information, but details matter in the PhD program.
