516: Developing a healthy body image in ourselves and in our kids, with Taryn Brumfitt

Taryn Brumfitt is here, she’s the 2023 Australian of the Year. Leader of the @bodyimagemovement, an Adelaide-based organisation that teaches people to love and appreciate their bodies. She has made two brilliant films, Embrace and Embrace Kids - the first film explores the serious issue of women’s body loathing and Taryn’s path to body acceptance, her second film Embrace Kids has a message for nine- to 14-year-olds to move, nourish, respect and appreciate what their bodies can do. She’s a four-time bestselling author, two-time marathon runner, lover of life and people, and mum to four children, Taryn is absolutely marvellous. We cover a lot in this conversation. Self Talk, Body Image, Self Acceptance and the problem with comparison. We also pick apart the tricky business of dating in middle age, and realising that someone new is going to see you naked. It’s fantastic. Enjoy the show. MICF shows on sale now Tickets at oshergunsberg.comhttps://www.comedyfestival.com.au/2024/shows/osher-guensberg-ntnnnnGot suggestions for Better Than Yesterday?
