Should You Buy Filters? Landscape Photography Filters Explained and Q&A

Episode 2:  Welcome to our first Tidbit Tuesday episode, where I give you practical photography tips or outdoor advice and answer your submitted questions.  Today, we talk about filters used in outdoor photography, which also relates to two of our listener questions. I explain the four different types of filters commonly used in outdoor photography, the three that I think are the ones worth having, how and when to use them, what to look for when choosing a filter, and some recommendations.  So if you are considering whether or not to add filters to your photography kit, or whether it’s time to upgrade what you have, this episode is for you.  I then answer three listener questions.LINKS MENTIONED:Petapixel article debunking the use of UV filters on modern camerasSteve Perry’s video testing protective qualities of UV filtersOPS Article on Aperture and F-stops ExplainedOPS PhotoPills Friday Video SeriesColor cast comparison between Breakthrough Photography filters and other brandsBreakthrough Photography Filters Deep Sky Astrophotography Filters ExplainedHoya Starscape Light Pollution FilterLonely Speck Pure Night FilterMap of vulnerable trout lily Trout Lily-Dogtooth VioletFull Show Notes***HAVE A QUESTION?Record a Question for Tidbit TuesdayLOVE THE OUTDOOR PHOTOGRAPHY PODCAST?Ways you can support the show:Buy Me a CoffeeLeave a Rating and ReviewShare the show with others!CONFUSED ABOUT WHERE TO FOCUS?Download my FREE Hyperfocal Distance Made Easy EbookABOUT BRENDA PETRELLA (host)Learn more about meVisit my online portfolioConnect with me on Instagram
