042: Guest Interview with Michaeleen Doucleff: Hunt, Gather, Parent: What Ancient Cultures Teach Us About The Lost Art Of Raising Happy, Helpful Little Human.

Michaeleen is a correspondent for NPR’s Science Desk. When her daughter Rosy was 3 years old, she bundled her up and left San Francisco to live amongst three ancient cultures to experience their parenting first hand.  She spent time with the Maya of the Yucatan, the Inuit of the Artic Circle and the Hadzabe in Tanzania.  In this interview we discuss the pitfalls of Western “WEIRD” parenting and the merits of ancient methods she refers to as “TEAM” parenting.    You can follow Michaeleen on twitter @FoodieScience  And her website:  www.michaeleendoucleff.com  She loves emails:  mdoucleff@npr.org   You can purchase her book from Amazon too: https://www.amazon.ca/Hunt-Gather-Parent-Ancient-Cultures/dp/1982149671 Hosted on Acast.
