Children are not born knowing how to hate. Hate and intolerance are learned the same way they can learn about sensitivity, understanding, empathy and tolerance. The sooner we start these positive lessons the better chance we have of preventing negative attitudes from taking hold of our children’s hearts and minds. If we want our kids to have a chance of living harmoniously in our multi-ethnic, global 21st century, it is critical that we raise them to be tolerant, kind and inclusive.
