The Shadow You

In the field of psychology, "the shadow" refers to a concept developed by Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung. Jung believed that the human psyche is composed of various components, including the ego (conscious mind) and the personal unconscious. Within the personal unconscious lies what he called the shadow. The shadow represents the aspects of our personality that we tend to reject, deny, or repress. It consists of the parts of ourselves that we deem unacceptable, undesirable, or socially unacceptable. These can include our fears, insecurities, aggressive tendencies, selfishness, and other traits that we find difficult to acknowledge or integrate into our conscious identity. In this episode of the People Centric podcast we share how the Shadow shows up at work and what you can do to avoid these negative connotations and work toward the brightest version of yourself.
