He’s one of the first stoics for which there are considerable literary remains for us to study. He believed that happiness is an internal affair and wrote a book specifically on happiness called “De Vita Beata” which explains the path to happiness within the context of Stoic philosophy. Stoicism is a school of Hellenistic philosophy founded by Zeno of Citium in Athens in the early 3rd century BC.
