07 - Communication tools and API testing basics (testing mini-series #1)

Ever wanted to communicate with your client and your team using the same tool? We touch on this problem and present a surprising contender in this space.  Then we quickly context switch to today's main game.  You're just starting to play with a new API or creating one? You need some tools to be able to play around with these APIs.  Let's do a comparison between desktop and cloud-based API testing tools.  Guess who will be the desktop API tester today? BINGO! It is indeed Roland. We will make this a mini-series about the different approaches to API testing and documentation using Postman, Talend and Swagger so stay tuned for the next ones which will show you how to create automated tests and also how is Swagger's approach different to the other two. If  How are you testing APIs? Are you working test-driven? Have you considered using your test sets as the documentation of your API?  Share any thoughts that come to mind, on our website pimpmyapi.com or find us on our Facebook page. Reach out to us if you feel strongly about anything we said, or if you have suggestions on what we should talk about. *teaser: we are working on a new website where we will have show notes where we can link all tools and tech mentioned and you will be able to comment on each episode.  --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/pimp-my-api/message
