Episode 30 - What Are Three White Men "Allowed" To Talk About?

There seem to be numerous unspoken "rules" today about who is allowed to express an opinion about what, depending on their personal experience. People groups deemed privileged (e.g. white men) are increasingly discouraged (or directly silenced) from speaking on various topics including race, gender, and sexuality. Whilst amplifying marginalised voices, limiting biases, and valuing personal experiences, are all good things, is there also a danger that problems of bias actually get worse by silencing or limiting other voices? Christians too often follow the cultural flow here, missing the heart of the Biblical message, where sympathy, compassion, and proclamation to others is an imperative, regardless of whether we can personally identify with the direct experiences of all peoples. As three white men who like to talk about numerous things beyond their station, Michael, Andy, and Aaron attempt to speak from the bottom of the food chain here with their usual blend of cultural analysis, theology, and banter.
