On this episode a contingent from Nonatus House travels to South Africa to help out in a mission hospital there. Trixie has a patient there who is desperate for a baby after many miscarriages, Tom and Sister Julienne struggle to provide the hospital with a reliable source of water, Barbara demonstrates her backbone, and everybody adjusts to the realities of rural South African medical practice.
