331: Empire of Death (2004)

Remember when the Doctor encountered Queen Victoria, when she was mourning her husband, Prince Albert, and had an adventure in Scotland? Yes, of course we're talking about 2004's Fifth Doctor PDA, Empire of Death, by David Bishop. As if Russell T Davies would ever use an elements from one of David's stories, or nick his story title. Oh, no... wait... We're joined by David Bishop who discusses the novel, and its original Bidmead-esque title... Our readings are courtesy of James Hadwen-Bennett, whose fan-produced reading of the novel can be heard at https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLzNtNqZdyNC-S-cZTDWWZDAX73d-1vKU9

Om Podcasten

A podcast discussing Doctor Who-related items, more often than not in threes, whether stories, guests, or anything else. Featuring a regular team of hosts, including Big Finish's Kenny Smith, and David Steel (not the former Liberal Party MP, MSP and leader). Our other regular conspirators are Dr John Bollan, Stephen Day and Matt Michael, with irregular appearances from the podcast's founding father, Tom Harris (the former Labour MP). We also welcome a host of great Doctor Who guests, using "Kenny's bottomless address book" (c) David Steel.
