The Legend and Reality of Philo McGiffin
Philo McGiffin was not a mythical graduate of the US Naval Academy, but a real life 19th century student who became a Chinese naval officer, superintendent of the Chinese Naval Academy, and commanded a Chinese warship at the Battle of Yalu.
