Coronavirus and Pregnancy

A big challenge of covering the topic of the coronavirus is to find a balance among taking precautions, getting accurate information, being safe and prepared, and not inducing hysteria and fear. That has been part of the reason I have waited to cover this in an episode. I am very cautious about my sources of information, as you should be. There is a lot of alarming information about the coronavirus and there are a lot of unknowns. This is my attempt to synthesize all of the data and information I have been taking in, along with professional guidelines, and the actionable steps you should be taking right now to protect yourself. There are many ways in which this pandemic can affect you during pregnancy, whether or not you get exposed to this virus. You may see changes to your access to prenatal care and changes in your birth plan as a result of this pandemic. This is an ever-evolving situation and this article is the most recent info and data available as of March 15th, 2020.
