Mr. Loshan Kangesu: “Navigating Medicine as Both the Healer and the Healed” – A “Giants in Plastic Surgery” Interview

In this "Giants in Plastic Surgery" episode of the PRS Global Open Deep Cuts Podcast, Mr. Loshan Kangesu discusses his seemingly serendipitous journey to becoming a plastic surgeon and how he was forced to delve into medicine as a patient instead of a surgeon. He details how being a patient adds a deeper understanding to approaching medicine, and what that means for him both as a surgeon, and as a human.   Dr. Loshan Kangesu has served as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon in the NHS since 1998, with experience at Broomfield, Southend, and Great Ormond Street Hospitals, alongside a private practice in Essex and London. His expertise lies in cleft lip, palate, and other congenital anomalies. He has held leadership and training roles and continues to oversee the development of surgical trainees. Mr. Kangesu earned his medical degree from the University of London and completed his plastic surgery training in the UK.   Your host, Dr. Vimal Gokani, is a senior Specialty Registrar in plastic surgery in London, England.   Your producer & editor, Charlene Kok, is a Year 2 Medical Student in Imperial College London, England, with a keen interest in Plastic Surgery.   #PRSGlobalOpen #DeepCutsPodcast #PlasticSurgery #GiantsPlasticSurgery

In the "Giants of Plastic Surgery", Dr. Vimal Gokani and Dr. George Adigbli investigate what drives and motivates the most influential names in our field, while with "Leveling Up", Dr. Puru Nagarkar reveals the little technical details in a surgeon's repertoire that make all the difference.
