Claudine Tsongo

This week’s revolutionary is Claudine Tsongo, the founder and coordinator of Dynamique des Femmes Juristes (DFJ). Claudine is the mother of five children, a teacher, and a lawyer with the passion to give every human the hope that justice is possible. Residing in the northeastern province of the DRC, Claudine works as an agent of change to help empower people who have experienced sexual violence, give them a voice, and help them access justice. She helps them redefine their lives and combat the stigma that inevitably comes with being a survivor. In this episode, Claudine and I discuss how she balances her heavy work with being a mother. We also discuss the role that social norms play in perpetuating violence against women and children, and how Claudine is working to transform society in the DRC to be a safer place for all. Some Questions I Ask: What do you do for your work?
