NZ pauses Cook Islands funding over China deals

New Zealand has suspended millions of dollars in development funding to the Cook Islands over a raft of deals its smaller Pacific neighbour struck with China back in February. The NZ government said it was 'blindsided' by the deals covering infrastructure, tourism, technology and deep-sea mineral exploration.
