SEASON 2, EPISODE 5: Meet the Parents: Grace and her Mum Carole Anne

In this episode Grace introduces us to her mum Carole Anne.  Carole Anne describes her initial feelings of numbness and denial at Grace's diagnosis and the overwhelming responsibility of telling the wider family and coping with their reactions. She talks about being back in 'Mummy Mode' and her fears of not feeling equipped to look after Grace at home after the safety of being in hospital.  Grace shares the worst parts of her treatment and the impact of the side effects on her day to day life. She explains how she finds it hard to plan for her future, but feels grateful and privileged to have her family and friends around her. She described her fear of 'graduating' from peer support but reflects on how much her life has moved on and recognises that Cancer is no longer the biggest part of her life.  Season 2 is sponsored by the Beatson Cancer Charity Home | Beatson Cancer Charity and is recorded by Go Radio in Glasgow Go Radio | 90's 00's & Now | Number 1 for Glasgow & The West (thisisgo.co.uk)  Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/radiotherapypodcast Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/radiotherapypod LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/radio-therapy-podcast Tik Tok: https://www.tiktok.com/@radiotherapypodcast
