The Land Before Time (1988)

Once upon this same earth, beneath this same sun, in the winter of 1988, Amblin Entertainment released ‘The Land Before Time’, and kids have been emotionally traumatised ever since. Don Bluth’s second and final Amblin movie sees a group of young dinosaurs making an incredible journey to find the Great Valley, all within 59 minutes. We put together our own herd by inviting our two friends, Nicole Davis and Michael Perry to make the pilgrimage across Bluth’s prehistoric landscape with us. Along the way, we encounter a troubled production history, stumble over a crater of 13 direct to video sequels, and unearth Josh’s Irish brontosaurus impression. Join us, won’t you? You can follow Nicole on Twitter (@stonecoledfox) and make sure to catch up with her podcast Best Girl Grip, featuring interviews with women who work behind-the-scenes and below-the-line of the British film industry.
