So much so that she even went to college for it and got her Bachelors in the same exact field. But after just one year in her career in the arts, she realized that line of work wasn’t for her. Lesson to be learned here: Kayla went to school for work, but she didn’t learn what she wanted her life to look like. That was the pivotal moment that led to real estate. Combining her true personality and natural skills, she got her real estate license and took on a role with an investing company that grew over the years to a managerial position affording her the education to learn the ins and outs of the business. Upon returning home, she decided that it was time to start investing for herself and her family and she hasn’t looked back since. And that's where we meet Kayla in this episode. Only after two years of full-time investing, she and her husband have grown their portfolio substantially and the duo show no sign of letting up anytime soon. Up to date, she has 40 units in her portfolio and is set to close on 10 more before the year comes to an end. Going forward, the focus is on more automation in their business, more partnerships in the commercial space, both in and out of state, and to get to the point where they can eventually fund deals all on their own.
