20. Designing for TV changed my life forever with Brittany Steptoe-Wright

My guest today is Brittany Steptoe-Wright of BSW Design, who left her high paying job in the corporate world when she was offered a Design Assistant position with Scott Brother’s Entertainment on HGTV. She now runs her family owned design business with her dad and is committed to sustainable and vegan design.  In this episode we talk about how she is a certified Vegan Designer and tries to wrap sustainability, vegan-products, local, handmade, women-owned business into as much of her designs as she can.  She is a dog-mom, life long equestrian, wife to an Army veteran, and big believer in “Design for Real Life” – where having a functional, inspiring space can be conducive to improving all areas of your life.  We talk about our experiences doing design for television and are mutual thoughts on an elitist design industry.

Om Podcasten

I’m Rebecca Hay and I have built a successful interior design business by trial and error, podcasts, online courses and books. Over the last decade I have grown from an insecure student to having career false starts and now I’ve finally landed where I want to be. Throughout my journey I’ve become deeply passionate about business and helping other entrepreneurs and career minded women. Each week I’ll share tangible takeaways from my own experience and the experiences of other badass women to help you build your confidence and change your business.
