368- PLEASANTVILLE

Gee golly, this week we explore a kinder, simpler world with PLEASANTVILLE, the 1998 comedy starring Reese Witherspoon and Tobey McGuire as two modern teens who are sucked into the TV set (and not in the binging-Russian-Doll-on-Netflix way). Also featuring Joan Allen, Jeff Daniels and Don Knotts, Pleasantville examines the rose-colored glasses of nostalgia and asks us to consider whether the good old days were so good and old after all. Which, of course they were! Sit back and listen here and don't forget to subscribe and rate us on Apple Podcasts, Spotify or Stitcher. Also, follow us on Facebook or Twitter. And please consider supporting our Patreon campaign, or purchasing Rewatchability t-shirts at TeePublic!  Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Om Podcasten

Rewatchability is a comedic pop-culture nostalgia podcast hosted by J.M. McNab, Rob LaRonde, and Blain Watters. It is produced independently in Toronto, ON.The show began in the summer of 2011. In 2012 it was profiled by The A.V. Club and in 2015 our podcast appeared on CBC Radio’s Podcast Playlist. The aim of the show is to re-watch movies and television shows from when we were younger, and review them in an interesting and hopefully humourous way. Hopefully.Rewatchability contains coarse language and immature subject matter; our main goal is to be funny, so please don’t take anything too seriously… especially you Ghost Dad. Hosted on Acast.
