Balancing Mortgages, Careers, Family and Renovations in Sydney, Australia

The Fazio’s lived in New Jersey overlooking the Hudson River and the skyline of New York City where Ryan worked 60-80 hours a week to pay for their seemingly never-ending expenses. With one child already and another on the way, a change was necessary and his partner through out the idea of living in a school bus while living inside the burrows of New York City. Ryan needed some convincing, but she didn’t quit, doing all the research, budgeting and showing what would be possible with this new life. So like all good men, Ryan committed to the dream and soon they were the proud owners of a school bus and after a quick and dirty outfitting of the rig, they were soon living on the bus on the streets of New York City. In this episode, Ryan shares stories from his adventures learning the ways of bus life inside of one of the world’s busiest cities. For example how they never received a single parking ticket, how he eventually learned to take water from the hydrants and power straight off the poles and most importantly how the community embraced their family in all parts of the city. The Fazio’s now live in Boulder, CO but if you’re interested in what their journey was like, check out Gypscity on Instagram.

Today, we see a movement afoot. It's not limited to the countryside or the heart of the city, the movement is global and strong parents are choosing to restore, regenerate and re-cultivate what parenthood means and what success as individuals and as a family is. We call this rewilding parenthood and this podcast features parents leading this movement. Our podcast is told in 5 episode thematic based seasons - the purpose being we want families interested in a certain subject matter to get a holistic look at the lifestyle they seek to pursue and most importantly highlighting paths to achieving this life. Of the five episodes per season, four will be hosted by me in English and the fifth in Spanish and hosted by my partner, Sofi. So whether your kids are in your mind, in the womb, in diapers, school or taking care of you, the stories told here are for those of us who have chosen the sacrifice and joy of parenthood and seeking a better way to be.
