Building on the prior episode covering an approach to diarrhea, they first discuss diagnosing IBD and distinguishing between ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn's disease (CD). Through a case discussion of a patient with UC, they provide an overview the initial management options for lower risk patients with mild to moderate UC and then review how to manage an acute, severe UC flare.
