Success Secret #2: Say “no” more than you say “yes”

If you’re like most administrators I know, at this point in the summer, you have a plan that is a mile long. Summer tends to do that to us. We get really excited that THIS year is going to be the best year so we start planning on doing ALL the things. But, trying to solve every problem, correct every mistake from last year, or take advantage of every new program and opportunity you have is a big mistake that will lead to burn out, frustration, and exhaustion. Builders have a specific way of vetting every idea or opportunity and then rigorously saying NO to the ones that will not move the needle, so that they can say YES to the ones that will. That’s how Builders accomplish more by doing less. On today’s episode, I’m breaking down that process step-by-step so that you can significantly cut down on the busy work this fall and focus on what matters most #LikeABuilder.
