216. The day you say "I Do" to their finances with Steve and Kristy

Today on the show:  Before we get real and honest about marriage and money, we’ll start the show with our “No Dumb Questions” segment. What happens to a person’s debt when they pass away? Today CFP at the Harmony Financial Group at RBC Wealth Management Erica Cummings will explain.  Dear friends of mine, Steve and Kristy LaTart join the show. If you live here in Rochester NY, you know Steve as Carson from back in the day on the radio morning show I co-host. If you live in Minnesota, you know him as Steve O from the radio morning show. After being laid off due to pandemic downsizing, he and his wife Kristy launched their It Goes Both Ways podcast. A hysterically honest podcast about the highs and lows of marriage and parenting. They are the PERFECT couple to invite on the show and lovingly grill them about their money. Even though throughout the episode we joked about it feeling a little like a therapy session,, talking about money as a couple is so important. We end the show like we always do, we’ll take “A Seat at the Kid’s Table.” Today we asked the kids “What is passive income?” We’ll listen in on their answers and then our money expert Susan Beacham founder of Money Savvy Generation will give parents some tips of how to start the conversation about earning passive income. Cheers to each one of you who is on your way to being proud to say you are financially confident!   Thank you for listening to the show. I truly hope it is helping you.
