Glen is a political economist and social technologist who is focused on how new technologies and markets can create a more equal, cooperative society. He’s best known in the blockchain space for his work with Vitalik Buterin on their paper “Liberal Radicalism” (coauthored with Zoë Hitzig), and he’s deeply passionate about building a global movement for change. Glen is also the coauthor of “Radical Markets”, and he teaches at Princeton University and is a principal researcher at Microsoft in New York. On this episode Glen discusses what Liberal Radicalism represents, how mechanisms like quadratic voting and Harberger taxes can be applied at small scale and globally, why we should treat data as a product of labor, and why we must pursue and value social innovation as much as technological innovation.
