How To Make It As An Actor...with Hattie Morahan

Hattie Morahan is one of Britain's greatest actors. She left Cambridge with a degree in English and won a part in the RSC company. She has gone on to win the best actress gong at the Evening Standard Theatre Awards for her portrayal of Nora in Ibsen’s A Doll’s House and has starred alongside Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig in Golden Compass, Emma Watson in Beauty and the Beast and Keira Knightley and Matt Smith in Official Secrets. In this episode she talks about navigating an industry that's not a meritocracy - "fundamentally we're used to seeing more male bodies on stage than female bodies" - conversations that are happening about safe space in the wake of #metoo - "I did a read-through the other day and there was a 20-minute powerpoint presentation on harassment" - and how her attitude to work has shifted since becoming a parent.
