Knowing Kenobi: The King of Swords

Happy summer series! In our first episode of our three-part analysis of Obi-Wan Kenobi, we first begin by aligning Obi-Wan with the tarot card, The King of Swords. We discuss what that means and why Obi-Wan fits that phrasing. Then, we explore the development of the character and trace the origins from the early 70s to now, with anecdotes about Alec Guinness and Carlos Castaneda. Then, we discuss what moments we see as the defining character moments. All this and more.  Knowing Kenobi series artwork by Kara DJ, author and artist behind "Into a Larger World" fanzine.   Works cited: The Making of Star Wars by JW Rinzler The Making of The Empire Strikes Back by JW Rinzler Star Wars Archives 1 & 2 by Paul Duncan The Teachings of Don Juan & Tales of Power by Carlos Castaneda Revenge of the Sith novelization by Matthew Stover Interview in British Magazine, Loaded, in 1998 Labyrinthos + The Tarot Guide    Save 10% on your Super Yaki order with code SUPERSKYTALKERS!   https://www.patreon.com/skytalkers http://skytalkers.com  http://www.twitter.com/skytalkerspod https://www.tiktok.com/@skytalkers  http://facebook.com/skytalkerspod  https://www.instagram.com/skytalkerspodcast  http://www.twitter.com/crerrity  http://www.twitter.com/caitlinplesher  hello@skytalkers.com  Learn more about your ad choices.
