Empowered to Love Like Jesus, Guided Advent Meditation 4 | John 15:12-17

This week’s podcast is a Guided Lectio Divina Scripture meditation for the fourth week of Advent focused on Love.   Jesus is love – and through him, we can be more loving toward others.   This guided meditation may be particularly timely for you. I know it is for me. We always hear that this is the most wonderful time of the year and while that may be true, it’s also a time of added stress. And stress impacts how we love others.   If you’re feeling low on love, take a few deep breaths and listen to this meditation. Love is a fruit of the Spirit, and the Spirit is ready to empower us to love as Jesus is inviting us to.   The full meditation passage is as follows: John 15:12-17, NIV My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command. 15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. 17 This is my command: Love each other.
