Lesson 17: Advanced English Speaking / Idioms - Slangs - Phrasal verbs

Kim and Britney are having a heart to heart conversation at Kim’s place. Even though they haven’t seen each other in a while, they have kept in touch the whole time. They have been best friends since middle school. In the middle of their conversation, Britney asks Kim about their old friend Scarlet. Kim isn’t sure what to reply back. Britney states that she got an earful about Scarlet’s affair. Kim lets the cat out of the bag and says that Scarlet is cheating on her boyfriend with her ex-boyfriend Sam. Kim reveals that she saw Scarlet and Sam twice hanging around in the city. Kim expresses that what adds insult to injury is that Sam has never had a good reputation and he has only been known as a party animal for so long. Britney is wondering if Scarlet is really falling for Sam again or if she is using him to be her meal ticket since she recently got laid off and Sam has deep pockets. Kim and Britney express that Scarlet is off her rocker and this whole relationship is a real bomb.
