Episode 56. How Riffing, not Rambling, is a Powerful Technique

Rambling is DEFINITELY not what we want when we’re aiming to speak with confidence and impact. But riffing, well, that’s a completely different story.    But often times people think when they’re talking conversationally they’re rambling and therefore they’re not effective. But riffing is quite different to rambling and is a really powerful technique for engaging your audience, building rapport and making your point.    In this episode I talk about the difference between rambling and riffing and how you can riff, verbally, like a fabulous musician does in a good piece of music, and use gestures and your stage to keep your audience and emphasise your points.    If you’d like to stop rambling, then download my FREE ebook, How To Stop Rambling, at https://www.impactfulpresenters.com/    To ask a question, or share your favourite guitar riff with me 😉 head over to the Speaking with Confidence group on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/speakingconfidence    Mentioned in this episode: Steven Burgess at Complete Streets.
