[audio mp3=http://media.spinnovation.se/2019/06/Spinnovation-Robert-Langer.mp3][/audio] In this episode well meet Prof. Robert S. Langer, maybe one of the most prolific and successful researchers in the world! He did a brief visit here in Sweden a couple of weeks ago and I was lucky enough to have an engaging and very educational conversation with him. With such an accomplished and experienced individual I was at first worried about how to make him and his achievements justice in a conversation that was just one hour but it turned out he was very approachable and generously shared his amazing life story with me and some of the insights and experiences he had gained during the course of his long career. See below for his CV and Bio: ScD., FREng, is one of 13 Institute Professors at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a position that is considered MIT’s highest honor. Langer has received more than 220 major awards and is one of four living individuals to have received both the United States National Medal of Science (2006) and the United States National Medal of Technology and Innovation (2011). Langer’s research is at the interface of medicine, materials science, and chemical engineering. As a Science Envoy for Innovation, Dr. Langer will focus on novel approaches in biomaterials, drug delivery systems, nanotechnology and tissue engineering, and the U.S. approach to research commercialization.
