Dans l'atelier de Traian Chereches
🇬🇧🎙️Square Meters takes you inside the artist studio of Traian Chereches (@traianchereches). Born in 1989, when Eastern Europe rejoined the West, Traian Cherecheș lived through two childhoods at the same time: his own and the one of his natal country and region. These first matrixial experiences of intersection (or even coincidence), with all of its traumatic and revelatory layers, between one’s own life and "capital- H" history, was joined by that of the ambivalence between what Francis Fukuyama proclaimed, in that moment of reunification, as the "end of history" (which, in time, would prove to have actually been the triumph of globalization), but which actually meant the beginning of a new history, one yet unknown.Marked by this permanent possibility of reconverting the negative into positive and of ending into a new beginning, Traian Cherecheș rejects ambiental catastrophizing, but he does so with care and clarity, ludic reclaiming the forms of the past and trying to repair the toys of history by treating them as the matter of a possible new history.--This episode features extracts from two soundscapes composed and produced by Traian Chereches.
