Filipino Land Spirits: Stories of Kapre, Duwende, and more in the Philippines

The spirits that inhabit the land are often overlooked in conversations regarding ghosts and the paranormal, but they’re a very present aspect of everyday life, especially in the Philippines.  So for this week’s episode, I’d like to share true stories from real people who have had encounters with spirits of the land in the Philippines. Ch 1: The kapre in the mango tree, submitted by Bison. I narrate the tale of a young woman’s brush with a tree spirit. Ch 2: Don't throw rocks, with Ethan from the Tabi Tabi Podcast. She tells us of the time her brother was punished by a ground dwelling creature. Ch 3: Mountains out of anthills. I share my aunt’s story about a vengeful duwende. Learn more about your ad choices.
