Ep 47: The Lie of Hopelessness

A.W. Tozer once wrote, “So strong, so beautiful is hope that it is scarcely possible to overpraise it. It is the divine alchemy that transmutes the base metal of adversity into gold. In the midst of death Paul could be bold and buoyant because he had firm confidence in the final outcome. "C.S. Lewis would also go on to say, “Hope is one of the Theological virtues. This means that a continual looking forward to the eternal world is not (as some modern people think) a form of escapism or wishful thinking, but one of the things a Christian is meant to do. It does not mean that we are to leave the present world as it is. If you read history you will find that the Christians who did most for the present world were just those who thought most of the next.” Hope is eternal. It is the key reflection of God in our lives. It is not a belittling or denial of reality, but a true acknowledgement of the eternal reality Christians have in Jesus Christ our Lord. We are made to hope in Jesus. This hope can be an everyday part of our lives. But we must clear away the hopelessness of the world. (Easier said than done!)  However, in Christ, all things are possible. Let us dive in together and get a good reminder of the hope we have in Jesus!Versus:Revelation 21:4Luke 18:7-8Proverbs 23:18Psalm 147:11 Hebrews 12:2-3Psalm 39:7Philippians 4:6-7 Psalm 119:116-117For more content (or to put a face to a voice), check out our YouTube channel!
