Ep 48: The Lie that "Less is More"

As people continue to see the lies of the enemy exposed in our lives, it is imperative that we, as followers of Jesus, embrace the comforter He left us.  In John 16:7, Christ said, "But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you." (more below) So, if Christ said it is GOOD that I am leaving so that the Holy Spirit may come, why do so many Christians fear the Holy Spirit and His presence?  The truth is... the more we lean into God, the more He will make us less and less comfortable in this world.  Which means we will become more and more dependent on Him.Less of God is not a more fulfilling life. It does not give you more of any of the things that truly fill our souls - less God means less peace, less patience, less bravery, less honesty, less love. So, why do so many of us settle for less?  Well... let's talk about that today. And let's see what in our own lives we have limited or redefined to fit our comfort zone. THEN, let's pray together to cast off lies and comfort and seek more of God!  He needs a warrior bride for these days. (No more pampered debutants). Then, next episode, let's delve into even lots of great scripture to expand and deepen this discussion... whoot!John 16:7-15: "But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment: about sin, because people do not believe in me; about righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no longer; and about judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned.12 “I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. 13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. 14 He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you. 15 All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.”For more content (or to put a face to a voice), check out our YouTube channel!
