RTTP #83 - Hard Luck, or, Odd and the Horrible, No Good, Very Very Bad Day (feat. Matt of Avana Music!)

In this episode, Odd has no luck because Vriska already took aaaaaaaall of it! [Editor's note: David wrote that joke. Rest assured that he has been fired.] In between an honestly corny framing device in which we find out luck is real in the Lyokoverse (along with ghosts, souls and pink hair), we get Ulrich and Yumi actually being adorably flirty for once, more ABANDONED AMERICAN MILITARY BASE shenanigans, and humor flowing from Jim like beer piss from a hobo's bladder. We ALSO have an incredible special guest for this one - Matt of Avana Music, as you may recognize from our amazing opening and closing theme! Thank you so much Matt for gracing us with your presence, and for letting us school you in the wonderful world of Tay Zonday's Chocolate Rain. Also, because Mary had to leave abruptly, we weren't able to get to the mailbag this week. Check back next week for more! === Look below for Matt's Soundcloud, and click here to read Matt's fanfic, Pokemon: Dimensions!:https://www.fanfiction.net/s/9108725/  Click here for a chart of Smash characters we talked about for a bit there: https://twitter.com/DAIROCKETTO/status/1119017016969449476  === Questions? Om Podcasten

Remember the cartoons you loved as a kid? Do you, like us, remember mid-2000s Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network with a mix of fondness and terror – or, if you don’t, do you want to know what the fuss was about? Join Mary, David, and Ben as we revisit the cartoons that shaped us in an episode-by-episode deep dive, as well as the Internet fan culture as it was then and is now. How do these nostalgic shows hold up? What do we think of them now, as not kids but sad adults? How has the zeitgeist and Internet following evolved along with us? We set out to answer these questions and also to be incredibly hilarious and physically attractive. We started in 2017 with Return to the Past: A Code Lyoko Retrospective, which ran from 2017-2019 and makes up the first part of this feed. Second was The Ultimate Reprise, which ran from 2019-2020 and covers Oban: Star Racers. Now we’re on The Avatar Recycle, hot on the heels of Avatar: The Last Airbender’s Netflix debut! Join us wheresoever you like. Watching along is not necessary - but highly encouraged – and we try to keep spoiler free up to the current episode!
