Good v. Bad

We sense much of our world in terms of opposites.  Open v. Closed, Up v. Down, Hot v. Cold, Day v. Night, Light v. Dark, Soft v. Hard, Clean v. Dirty, Big v. Small, Full v. Empty, and so it goes.  Understanding opposites helps us define and communicate many things in our reality; and though the tipping point between the two may vary by person (such as what is hot as opposed to what is cold), in general, these are common understandings and the values don't change.  Where things tend to get off into the weeds is when we try to define opposites in emotional or judgmental terms or through values.  Good verses bad is an example.  Good and bad are not definitions we can all agree to all the time.
