Adam Goodes is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Sydney Swans in the Australian Football League (AFL). Widely considered to be a legend, Goodes holds an elite place in AFL history as a dual Brownlow Medallist, dual premiership player, four-time All-Australian, member of the Indigenous Team of the Century and representative of Australia in the International Rules Series. Mr. Goodes impact, however, goes beyond the football field - he is also well known for his community work. He is currently the CEO of the Indigenous Defence & Infrastructure Consortium (iDiC) and the co-founder of the GO Foundation. In 2014, he was recognized as Australian of the Year because of his antiracism advocacy and support of Indigenous sporting and community programs. In this episode of the Search for Racial Equity, Adam Goodes sits down with Dr. Kamau Bobb, Google's Global Lead for Diversity Strategy, to discuss the importance of celebrating his Aboriginal heritage and his experiences as a black man in Australia.
