Tu David Phu | The Memory of Taste

Top Chef alum Tu David Phu joins Google to talk about his book, “The Memory of Taste: Vietnamese American Recipes from Phú Quoc, Oakland, and the Spaces Between.” The book is a playful collection of over 85 Vietnamese and Viet American dishes, and immersive travel photography that blends Tu’s modern culinary style with food wisdom from his refugee family. Chef Tu is a San Francisco Rising Star Chef and chef-partner at Gigi’s, a Vietnamese-inspired wine bar in San Francisco. His culinary path began in his mother’s Oakland garden, and developed in prestigious kitchens across New York and San Francisco.
