26. What's The Point of Goals Anyway?

I love everything about goals but I get it if you don’t. But that’s why I am here. I got a great question from a listener that is the genesis of this podcast. Episode #26 “What’s The Point of Goals Anyway?  “Goals stress me out. Not having one stresses me out, I think I should have them. Then when I set a goal, that stresses me out. What is going on?” I am going to answer that for all of you today. I want you to know two very important facts about goals. 1. Goals are meant to give your life flavor and texture and color. 2. Goals are not designed to make you feel worthy and valuable. You are born 100% worthy and valuable as a human being the moment you were born, before you even make a single contribution to the world, you are 100% valuable and worthy as a human. Did you know that? Do you feel that? Do you believe that? The point of a goal is not to up level your self-worth and self value at all. The only point of the goal is to add flavor and texture and color and interest to your life. That’s it. The point of a goal is to keep you on the path of learning and growing and stretching yourself to your full potential but not so that you feel more valuable.
