Episode 155: Jamie McDonald, Adventureman

Episode 156 of The Adventure Podcast features Jamie McDonald, a.k.a 'Adventureman'. Jamie is a fundraiser, speaker, author, and challenge-adventurer-extroadinaire. Jamie spent the first nine years of his life in and out of hospital with a rare spinal condition, Syringomyelia. In 2012, he began an adventurous fundraising quest to give back to the hospitals that helped him as a child by cycling 14,000 miles from Bangkok to Gloucester, using a £50 second-hand bike and cycling through more than twenty countries. He's since set multiple world records including static non-stop cycling, running 200 marathons across Canada, and spending 7 days straight on a treadmill. All while wearing a custom superhero outfit. Jamie is selfless, funny, determined, and the perfect example of creating something of yourself that seems impossible. Jamie founded the Superhero Foundation which supports families' fundraising missions - more information can be found on their website: www.superherofoundation.orgSupport this show http://supporter.acast.com/the-adventure-podcast.
