Viewpoints: Security is Everyone’s Responsibility

Cybersecurity is at a crossroads. Cyber incidents that bring critical infrastructure to a standstill, theft of sensitive data, and ransomware targeting municipalities, corporations and even hospitals have become all too common daily news. Costs arising from global economic cybercrime to grow by 15% per annum over the next five years, rising to $10.5 trillion annually by 2025. But the good news is the technology industry is standing idly by. In fact, it’s rallying together to innovate new and stronger security features from the IP level all the way through devices and systems, from hardware to software. In this episode, Geof Wheelwright speaks to Richard Grisenthwaite, Senior Vice President, Chief Architect and Fellow at Arm. The pair discuss what is driving the increase in cybercrime, what governments, regulators and policymakers are doing to protect consumers, and the initiatives and Arm and its partners are actively working on to prevent future threats.
