Bringing Characters to Life

This week, the Media Mavens meet up with artist Tommy Tejeda. Spending a lifetime in his craft, Tejeda started drawing comic books in Argentina at the age of 16, before going to work on a variety of superhero cartoons in the 1990s, including “Batman Beyond” and “Justice League.” Now, he’s spent over a decade working one of television’s most iconic cartoons: “The Simpsons,” where he currently serves on as the Lead Designer. Even before becoming the show's Lead Designer, he had time with many jobs on the beloved show starting as a layout artist before moving on to storyboards, assistant directing and character designer to name a few.  With the Mavens, Tejeda discusses his exciting resume, the variety of methods he is able to paint and some his upcoming gallery. “I’ve got 22 pieces, I’m working on 9 simultaneously.” Tejeda said. Tune in this week to learn about “Bringing Characters to Life” and what goes in to animating your favorite cartoons!
