Not all heroes wear capes, and teachers are for sure up there on the real-life heroes list. One teacher took extra time to figure out what part of math a student didn't understand and stuck with them until they understood it. A student came from a very conservative family and hadn't ever traveled before. When they were invited on a very special field trip for science class their parents said no immediately. The science teacher was persistent in persuading the parents to allow the student to attend, as it would be a missed opportunity for their child if they didn't let them attend.
