Ep 39: Dan Dewitt - Are You Super Scared of the Dark?

This week Amy and Mike talk with author Dan DeWitt who has written a number of books for kids including Why God? and his latest The Bright Light and the Super Scary Darkness. Dan DeWitt (PhD, The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary) is associate professor of applied theology and apologetics and the director of the Center for Biblical Apologetics and Public Christianity at Cedarville University. He is the author of several books, including “Why God?” (B&H Kids, 2019), “Life in the Wild” (The Good Book Company, 2018), and “Jesus or Nothing” (Crossway, 2014). He posts regularly on his blog, theolatte.com. Have you ever been super scared of the dark? The Bright Light and the Super Scary Darkness uses the imagery of darkness and light to help children understand God’s power over evil. With an emphasis on Jesus, the Light of the World, this book reassures children ages 4-8 who struggle with fear and anxiety and offers them courage from God’s Word. Kids will find comfort in the book’s reassuring tone and brilliant illustrations, which show that Jesus’ love is strong enough to defeat even the super scary darkness.
