The Blues Kitchen Radio: 08 October 2018

We first saw Watermelon Slim playing in Clarksdale, Mississippi back in 2013. Five years later & he’s made his way over to London and playing exclusively for The Blues Kitchen. His debut, ‘Merry Airbrakes’ was released in 1973 & his most recent album ‘Golden Boy’ has been spinning constantly on our stereo since its release last year. On the show he performs a version of Mississippi Fred McDowell’s, ’61 Highway’. With tracks from R. Dean Taylor, The Teskey Brothers, Van Morrison, Eli Paperboy Reed, Bo Carter, Johnny Flynn and Boz Scaggs.
